Dr. Shawqi Allam, the Grand Mufti of Egypt, said in his speech at the religious media conference held in Beirut that media discourse must be compatible with the requirements of the age to combat extremist ideologies and that religious media must address man in every age and place.

Dr. Shawqi stressed the importance of conveying factual information to the public, adding that the media must raise public awareness and refute false allegations with logical argument, proofs and factual truths which protect the Islamic community.
