As part of the activities of the opening session of Egypt's Dar al-Ifta's 8th International Conference titled “Fatwa and the Challenges of the Third Millinum”, the United Nations Under-Secretary-General and High Representative for the UN Alliance of Civilizations, Mr. Miguel Moratinos delivered a speech via video on the challenges of the third millennium.

He asserted the significance of the role enacted by Fatwa representatives in tackling these challenges under the umbrella of the General Secretariat for Fatwa Authorities Worldwide.

Mr. Moratinos pointed that respecting all religions and cultures and promoting interreligious discourse are among the pillars of UN Alliance of Civilizations.
