Dr. Ibrahim Negm, Secretary-General of the General Secretariat for Fatwa Authorities Worldwide, emphasized that artificial intelligence (AI) represents a strategic opportunity to foster moderation and disseminate balanced thought, while effectively combating extremist ideologies.

In his word at the annual meeting of Arab think tanks held at the Arab League, he highlighted the pivotal role AI plays in countering the threats posed by terrorist groups exploiting technology.

Dr. Negm stressed the need for religious institutions to embrace AI tools to enhance their message, ensuring that innovation aligns with religious principles and does not compromise authenticity. He addressed the challenges of AI in the religious field, including technical, ethical, and social concerns, and proposed actionable steps for integrating AI into religious education and fatwa issuance. His vision included developing AI-driven platforms for reliable religious guidance and promoting interfaith dialogue, ultimately using AI as a force for peace and coexistence.
