Is it prohibited in Islam for a boy or man to cut his hair or beard in fashionable way to go along with his peer group?

This matter depends on the customs and traditions prevailing in the community. This means that there is no objection in shari'ah (Islamic law) to do this so long as it is a familiar form of customs and traditions and it does not include imitating immoral people.
